Online Historical Resources

Since I began my interest in Chattanooga’s history, several other online resources have popped up. This list includes those and others that have been maintained regularly.

Chattanoogahistory.com
A website by Sam Hall: I’ve found this resource especially helpful with maps. It’s updated often, and Sam has been featured regularly in the Times Free Press over the past few years.

Schafluetzel.org
An amazing resource of obsolete merchant scrip and banknotes from Chattanooga.

UTC Special Collections
You’ll find a search of the former Chattanooga History Center’s collection here and the University’s collections.

Picnooga
The result of over eight years of collecting with only ten percent of this archive is online.

Chattanooga History (Facebook)
Matt Miller shares his private photography collection of Lookout Mountain and Chattanooga from the Civil War through the early 20th century.
